SUMMARY

How do we ensure that health workers are fairly compensated for the work they do, especially in resource-poor environments? For the majority of the world, health workers are paid a set salary regardless of the number or quality of services provided. World Bank and others have designed a results-based provider payment reform, which combines enhanced perfomance with staff and health facility bonuses. Visualst analyzed program data across 30+ results-based financing programs and conducted the critical analysis of what these programs are paying for and how to improve quality of care.
